Looking for a meaningful summer activity that helps your child build friendships while having fun?

Tumbleweed Health Services is excited to launch our Summer Virtual Camp for children 6–12 years old. This is more than just online gaming—it’s an occupational therapist-designed social group where children can practice communication, emotional regulation, teamwork, and problem-solving in a supportive virtual environment.

Why a Virtual Camp?

For many children, especially those who are shy, neurodivergent, anxious, or simply have difficulty finding peers with similar interests, making friends can be challenging. Common interests are the foundation of friendships! If your child is interested in Minecraft, this is a weekly group of potential friends who also like Minecraft.

Our camp creates a safe supervised, and lightly facilitated environment where children can:

  • Build genuine friendships
  • Practice social skills naturally through play
  • Watch and Learn emotional regulation strategies
  • Develop confidence communicating with others
  • Experience success in cooperative activities

Rather than “teaching” social skills through worksheets or lectures, we help children practice them while they are engaged in something they genuinely enjoy.

What We’ll Be Doing

We will have a Minecraft Realm where only participants are invited. Each session combines free play with fun activities. Gentle coaching from an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to remind participants about regulation, relationship development, and collaboration.

Children can look forward to:

  • Creative building challenges
  • Cooperative games
  • Team problem-solving
  • Conversation practice
  • Learning to handle winning, losing, and frustration
  • Encouraging one another during challenges

The focus is always on creating a positive experience where every child feels included.

Who Is This Camp For?

Our Summer Virtual Camp is ideal for children who:

  • Love video games and creative building
  • Would like more opportunities to make friends
  • Feel nervous in traditional group activities
  • Want to improve communication and teamwork
  • Benefit from structured social opportunities

Children do not need to have a diagnosis to participate. We welcome a wide variety of personalities, abilities, and experience levels.

We’d Love to Have You Join Us
